Ministry of Industry and Information Technology
of China(MIIT): The amount of recycled EV batteries in the first 5
months exceeded the whole year of last year 2022.
On July 19, the
State Information Office held a press conference on the development of
industry and information technology in the first half of 2023.
In
terms of battery recycling, Tao Qing, spokesman of the MIIT and
director of the Operation Monitoring and Coordination Bureau, said that
China's resource recycling capacity has been continuously enhanced, and
more than 10,000 waste power battery recycling service outlets have been
built, and 115,000 tons of waste power batteries have been recycled
from January to May 2023, exceeding the total amount of last year.
By
2022, China's new energy vehicle production and sales have remained the
world's first for eight consecutive years, and the tide of retired
batteries is also coming.
At present, the pace of power battery
recycling and utilization of new energy vehicles in China has
accelerated significantly, and the enterprises layout of is "hot".
On
June 9, the company signed an agreement with Tianyuan Shares and the
People's Government of Gaoxin County in Yibin City to jointly build the
Yibin new energy circular economy zero-carbon demonstration Industrial
Park project.
On June 28, Ni Jun, chief manufacturing officer of
CATL, said that CATL is negotiating with partners to establish a number
of automotive battery recycling stations in Europe, and is also looking
for partners to build power battery recycling stations in North America.
On
July 13, Bosscco announced that it planned to build "a comprehensive
utilization project of 30,000 tons/year waste lithium batteries" in
Ningguo City, Anhui province.
The industry believes that power
battery recycling is still in the early stage of development and needs
to be regulated and guided.
In this regard, Tao Qing said that
the next step will be the in-depth implementation of green manufacturing
promotion projects, research and development of new energy vehicle
power battery recycling management methods, and constantly improve the
recycling system.
